Main

Ob

jective

To ensure that all vessels in the fleet have competent crews who fully understand their roles and

responsibilities and who are capable of working as effective teams.

Vessel crews are at the heart of efforts to improve safety and the protection of the environment. Therefore, it

is vital that all crewmembers are motivated, trained, qualified and competent to carry out their roles. HSE

Driver 3 presents measures to ensure that crews have the required skills and training.

A common language will be defined onboard between French and English depending on vessel operational

area and crew. In case of any doubt onboard about this, the decision shall be taken by the DPA keeping in

mind the ISM goals: Ensuring that the ship's personnel are able to communicate effectively in the execution

of their duties related to the safety management system.(ISM 6.7).
