DP FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis)
proving trials are reviewed at the delivery date of the
vessel. This latter
shall
be done after :
1 Modifications on DP system or set up new Position Reference System for example;
2 Upgrades, DP class 1 to DP class 2 for example;
3 Charterer request;
4 After 5 years.

This DP trial is compulsory for vessel DP class 2 or 3 and may be requested by charterer for DP
OSV Capability 1.

DP FMEA is performed by a Third party.
x
Last FMEA report
shall
be archived in appropriate binder as per
BOS SMS vessel filing system
and
is a part of DP vessel familiarization.
x
FMEA proving trial(s) are described in
IMCA guidelines M 166 “Guidance on Failure Modes & Effects
Analyses (FMEAs).

x
This DP test is performed on a yearly basis after the FMEA date of anniversary +/- 3 months for all
DP class vessels.

A Third party may be contracted to do annual DP trials for BOS vessels. A Company’s

, external of the vessel, may perform annual DP trials, using DP annual test
report as per
IMCA Guidelines M 190 “Guidance for Developing and Conducting Annual DP Trials
Programmes for DP Vessels”

Filing System.
