An audit initiated in the United Kingdom leads to a project

in Singapore managed from Japan with support from

France.

The contract awarded byMitsui for ExxonMobil isn’t just a

newdemonstration of the effectiveness of our PTFE* coated solutions;

it also offers compelling evidence that amulti-local approach is a

major advantage in today’s markets.

«We had hardly sold any PTFE in

Japan before, so our French experts workedwith our local subsidiary

on the project’s technical features,»

explains Richard Scharbano, who

managesMersen’s PTFE business. Mersen Japan then took over with

Mitsui tomanage daily progress.

«Nearly 500 emails were exchanged

in 11months. In Japan, when a question is raised, you have to answer

it within 24 hours. Sowe got organized at the Pagny-sur-Moselle

facility to be as responsive as possible, despite the time difference.»

The teams’ hardwork and flawless coordinationwere reward by a

$2-million project.
