ANNUAL REPORT 2025

The Monegasque environment Alongside these economic achievements, the Principality is actively pursuing its commitment to protecting the ocean and developing the blue economy, two strategic priorities for diversification and sustainability. In June 2025, at the initiative of the Sovereign, Monaco hosted the Blue Economy & Finance Forum (BEFF), the inaugural event of the UNOC (United Nations Ocean Conference), which brought together high-level international stakeholders, experts and decision-makers committed to the conservation of marine resources and the promotion of innovative initiatives. CFM Indosuez and the Crédit Agricole Group were among the key partners of this international event, demonstrating our commitment to responsible financing and the transition to an ocean-friendly economy. Buoyed by the success of this inaugural event, the Principality wishes to establish the BEFF as a longterm fixture and make it a leading annual event, with the aim of increasing its international reach and impact. CFM Indosuez fully supports this commitment to sustainability, convinced of the importance of bringing together, on a long-term basis, those committed to protecting the oceans and fostering the growth of the blue economy. This initiative helps to strengthen Monaco’s leadership in sustainability and to support global objectives for the protection of the marine environment. In this challenging environment, characterised by market volatility, international competition and increased regulatory requirements, the Principality must continue to innovate, strengthen its partnerships and promote its appeal. The involvement of institutions, economic stakeholders and the financial sector, combined with the Sovereign’s leadership, is a key factor in ensuring Monaco’s long-term prosperity and preserving its status as an exceptional financial and economic centre. The private sector accounts for nearly 65,000 jobs, a fall of 1.3%, mainly due to a decline in temporary work and a contraction in the construction sector. The net balance of businesses has risen sharply, driven by a surge in new business start-ups (+36.5%). The 98 financial institutions, comprising 25 banks and 73 asset management firms, employ 3,500 people and have €179.2 billion in assets under management. Loans to customers stand at €31 billion, and the financial sector’s contribution to Monaco’s GDP has risen by 18%. CFM Indosuez maintains its leading position as the Principality’s largest banking employer, with a market share of well over 10%. The property market recorded a total of 493 transactions, representing a 5.8% increase compared with 2024, with the total value remaining stable at €5.9 billion. The average price of completed transactions stood at €57,569 per square metre: Monaco remains the world’s most expensive property market.
